The QCinema Asian Next Wave Film Forum is an annual event that serves as a platform for exploring and celebrating the evolution of Asian cinema. By bridging the stylistic depth of art-house cinema with the broad appeal of genre storytelling, Asian filmmakers are creating works that transcend traditional boundaries and resonate with both regional and international viewers.

Asian Next Wave Film Forum 2024

For its first edition held on November 16, 2024, during the QCinema International Film Festival, the QCinema Industry Forum embraced the theme: “Riding the Wave: Shifting Tides of Arthouse and Genre.” This theme encapsulated a transformative moment in Asian cinema—highlighting the growing intersection between artistic storytelling and popular genre conventions.
